Main Truths of Photography
Janusz Wójtowicz
- You don’t need a lot of money to take good photos.
- Autofocus is not essential for taking pictures.
- What’s important is the lens you use. What body you attach to the lens is secondary.
- The most important parameter of the body is not the number of frames per second. Reliability is more important.
- The larger the zoom range, the worse the optical quality. Unless it costs $150,000.
- There is no "best" camera. However, there can be a camera that is "best suited for the type of photos you take."
- Cameras from different manufacturers in the same price class do not differ that much. Choose the prettiest one.
- Exotic brands bring exotic problems. Choose what is familiar.
- Use a light meter, but never trust it completely.
- Automation in cameras is a great invention. Alongside taking photos, it can also cause stomach ulcers and anxiety.
- The front lens of your camera is the most valuable thing you have. Take care of it.
