Jarosław Boberek. When life says "check", he will even stop a train

The actor had never spoken about this in the media before. In a conversation with Paweł Gołębski in the POSTANAWIAM POMAGAĆ (I RESOLVE TO HELP) podcast, he talked about the accident that turned his world upside down and how "everything hung by a thread." This event became an important lesson for him. He understood then how vital a helping hand from another person is in life.

He didn`t want sympathy or sadness. He did everything he could so that his loved ones would leave the hospital smiling. He was the one giving them strength, even though he was suffering himself. Such an experience completely re-evaluated his approach to the world.

Boberek to the rescue. Train passengers, and sometimes pigeons

Helping is an unconditional reflex for Jarosław Boberek. Sometimes, however, such situations carry considerable risk. The actor tells how one night he intervened on a train when two aggressive men were terrorizing passengers in the dining car. The aggressors lunged at him, tearing his favorite shirt on his chest during the scuffle. He did not give up, however, and managed to have the train stopped and the police called.

There are many more such stories in his life. Once, he rescued a fancy Fantail pigeon at the Palace of Culture. Another time, he pulled a drowning puppy out of the water. Even his sons used to ask "if they have to save every old lady." He always replies that it is simply a duty.

He also remembers funnier situations. For example, when he bought his partner a handbag for 500 zlotys. At the time, his wallet was empty, and the financial situation was tense. A massive row broke out about the lack of prudence in spending. He knew his mind, however, and didn`t regret a penny. He knew that a loved one`s joy was worth any amount of money.

Today, he looks back at those moments with a lot of distance. He claims they brought him a truly brilliant experience. They taught him to enjoy every thing, even the smallest ones.

A spark that will set a million people on fire

In his conversation with Paweł Gołębski, Jarosław Boberek also mentions a girl from a certain oncology ward. She wrote an incredibly optimistic book about her illness. The actor wants to visit other sick kids with her. He wants to show them that one must always have hope. For him, this is just as important as fulfilling himself in his profession.

The actor believes that a single person has little chance. Only in a group can we move mountains. He believes that solidarity and the willingness to help each other is our greatest Polish phenomenon. That is why he did not hesitate to participate in the I Resolve to Help project. He wants to be the spark that sets off this help counter and helps another child – this time Emilka from the Cape of Hope clinic in Wrocław – fulfill a dream. To persuade a million Poles to declare on the internet that the year 2026 will be a year of helping each other.


In the conversation in the I Resolve to Help podcast, the actor does not hide his enthusiasm. He admires the passion of the people driving this whole campaign. He claims it is enough to just get this machine up to speed. Especially since he himself is not afraid of difficult challenges and impossible scenarios.

A personal debt to repay

Jarosław Boberek`s motivation has another solid foundation. His mother suffered from multiple sclerosis for most of her life. He saw with his own eyes how much she needed help. Now he feels he can repay that debt. He does it for her and for her caregivers.

He regularly visits the rehabilitation center in Borne Sulinowo. He meets with people suffering from MS there. He encourages other artists to also perform for the sick. He wants to give them a moment of joy in their daily lives.

As he says himself, image or likes don`t matter to him. Jarosław Boberek does not use social media. He has no Facebook, Instagram, or other "time eaters." He helps quietly because that`s just what needs to be done. He doesn`t seek applause or praise from internet users.

He prefers concrete action to empty talk online. He believes that every bit of help is a drop that wears away the stone. He encourages everyone to help another person at least once. It could be picking up trash or a suitcase. Because it is from such gestures that humanity is made.
